Domain Name Checker
Privacy policy. Last updated 8 November 2026.
This browser extension checks whether domain names are free to register. In short: the names you type are sent to the official registries that run each ending, and nothing is sent to us.
What leaves your computer
When you press "Check", each name you typed (and its variations, if you ask for them) is looked up with the registry that runs that ending, through its public RDAP service, the official successor to WHOIS:
- .com and .net: Verisign (
rdap.verisign.com) - .org: Public Interest Registry (
rdap.publicinterestregistry.org) - .ai: Identity Digital (
rdap.identitydigital.services) - .app and .dev: Google Registry (
pubapi.registry.google) - .in: NIXI (
rdap.nixiregistry.in) - .xyz: CentralNic (
rdap.centralnic.com) - .shop: GMO Registry (
rdap.gmoregistry.net) - .store and .tech: Radix (
rdap.radix.host)
Only the domain names are sent. Each registry handles its lookups under its own terms.
What it does not do
- It does not register, reserve or buy names, and has no link to any registrar.
- It does not collect, store, send or sell personal information or browsing history.
- It has no analytics, tracking, adverts or accounts, and no server of ours is involved.
- It does not read any web page you visit.
Permissions
- Access to the registry addresses above: to look up the names you type, only when you press "Check".
Storage
Nothing is stored. Your names and results disappear when you close the tab, unless you choose to download them as a CSV file.
